The staff were exceptional and a few of them are worthy of call outs. The guy who checked us in was pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough - he was originally from Albania and checked in on our stay throughout to ensure we were getting what we needed. We were delayed leaving due to weather and he helped organize our family to be able to stay in the two original adjoining rooms. When dining at Cafe 33, a woman from Nepal consistently checked in on us, made sure we enjoyed our food and would offer up samples for our kids to taste before they ordered - she was just terrific. The two women concierges who helped us DAILY were knowledgeable and helpful. They were very specific and followed through on every request in a timely manner. Housekeeping was also thorough and accommodated our time adjustments to Japan - and did so in a very thoughtful way. The entire staff were very kid friendly with our 10 year old twins - always helpful when traveling as a family.

Hotel located in a central area only 5 to 10 mins from many of the main attractions. Rooms were comfortable although slightly dated but nothing wrong with that. Breakfast was exceptional and one of the best that we had in Japan. Great options better than some of the newer hotels we stayed in during our travels was definitely a highlight of the stay. Hyatt team were extremely helpful and friendly. All restaurants within the hotel had exceptional food and service. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

The bathroom was amazing in our room. After exploring the shrines and walking around all day I always looked forward to taking a bath in the large tub. At breakfast we were always greeted by friendly staff and the chef himself. Consistently we ate a delicious meal with great service. The staff was so polite and helpful during all steps of our stay. All around I am very happy with our stay. The hotel was close enough to Kyoto station that we could walk and a short train ride to downtown.

Rooms were comfortable and had a nice view of the zen garden (after we requested a change as rooms in the first floor had a terrible view of a the roof, was glad this issue was promptly solved with a room change for both our rooms free of charge). Staff in reception were nice and helpful. The hotel is a bit far from the action in Kyoto but very close to some beautiful and important temples and across the road from the national museum, all unmissable.

This hotel is truly amazing, beautiful with helpful staff and it was very easy to communicate as most everyone we met had a good grasp or fluency of English. The room is the largest we stayed in in Japan, comfortable bed, and the bathroom shower was fantastic! The breakfast buffet was very good quality as well.
